View Larger Batwoman (Kate Kane) is among the newest Jewish superheroes to hit the stands, and I believe - and I may be mistaken here, let me know if I am - currently the only Jewish superhero to be headlining her own title at either of the Big Two companies. She’s also one of the few female characters to headline her own title, and I’m pretty sure she’s the only gay character with her own book, so she’s bearing quite a few banners here. It certainly doesn’t hurt that her book is possibly the best-illustrated monthly currently on the stands …

I was just wondering if DC had any prominent Jewish characters. All the Christmas fic is nice, but a girl does like to see her own winter festivities represented. (I know Marvel has several, if only because I saw that issue with the Jewish superheroes eating Chinese together on Christmas. With orphans. It was pretty awesome.) I think this just made Kate too awesome for me to conceptualize.
